No Tall Poppies

Dressed in suits of twilight
Crying in dresses of satin
Spades in hand
Springtime in the boneyard

Cathedrals of wood
Stand weeping
As the birds watch
Fragile on the branches

Low mounds of stone
Bearing silent messages
They are unable to hear
Any mourners dull groans

The birds are singing
Amongst the bees in the boneyard
The soft winds of spring
Breathe life
Back into the boneyard

gardenbuddha @LesleyDewar Thank you for the poem link. It has been a long, long time since I wrote any poetry in that form. Haiku has taken over.
